Thawte SSL 인증서 웹브라우져 호환성

Thawte 브랜드 SSL 인증서는 아래와 같은 호환성을 갖습니다. (Thawte 홈페이지 표기 내용) (2016기준)

구글 크롬 차단과 Thawte, GeoTrust, RapidSSL 은 전혀 관련이 없습니다. DigiCert 루트를 통해서 발급되며, 모바일등 여러 환경에서 호환성이 매우 높습니다.

참고로 글로벌 보안 권고 사항에 따라서, Thawte 역시 SHA-1 서명 알고리즘을 발급 중단하였으며 SHA-2 인증서로만 발급이 되고 있습니다. SHA-2 를 지원하지 못하는 웹브라우져/디바이스는 SHA-2 서명알고리즘 SSL 인증서가 적용된 웹페이지 접속에 문제가 있을 수 있습니다.

(중요) Chrome, FireFox 등의 웹브라우저에서는, 오래된 루트 인증서를 지속적으로, 비신뢰(거부) 처리를 하고 있습니다. 그러므로, 루트 인증서 자동업데이트 기능이 없는,

최신 루트를 보유하고 있지 않은, 너무 오래된 스마트폰/디바이스 에서는 작동에 문제가 발생할수도 있습니다. 이는 모바일 뿐만 아니라 데스크톱 PC 웹브라우져에서도 동일한 사항입니다.

최신 웹브라우저에는 점진적으로 구형 디바이스(모바일폰, PC, 웹서버 등등)의 접속 지원을 제거하고 있습니다. 인증서가 지원 못하는것이 아니라, 웹브라우저에서 구형 지원을 못하게 강제하고 있는 것입니다.
